So…I am not sure how I felt about this book. This was not a normal pick for me but the genre was on a monthly book challenge. Since I was on a J.H. Croix roll, I figured I would check hers out. I guess maybe I don’t understand the concept?? Even though It wasn’t my cup of tea, I still enjoyed it. Protected Mate was the first book in J.H. Croix’s Catamount Lion Shifters Series. Since this was my first shifters book I don’t have anything to compare it to. It was a quick read and pretty eye opening for me!
Dane was in the middle of a crisis in the shifter world. The thing they held most dear, their secret identities, was in danger. While trying to figure out what he was going to do, he stumbled upon a girl in the middle of the woods. She was injured and needed his help. Would he be able to protect her or would his inner lion want more?
Chloe was trying to forget her past while she was alone in the woods. But when Dane rescued her, she had a hard time with her attraction to him. She wasn’t sure she trusted her instincts. Could she find the strength to try again?
If you have followed me for awhile, you may know I hate not finishing a series. This one might be the first I don’t finish, even though I enjoyed it, I just don’t know… If you like shifter romance, I think you will really enjoy it and she sets it up for wanting more!
