Holy emotions!! I don’t think I have recovered yet! Chasing Smoke was the second book in Piper & Rayne’s The Mercer Family series. It can be read as a stand-alone if needed but check the first book out too! It was a sweet and sexy emotional rollercoaster!!
Ansel knew he needed to help his best friend’s widow as Caleb passed over a year ago and Collins needed to start living again. He slowly started helping with little things and wouldn’t take no for an answer. But the more time they spent together the more feelings he started to have. He knew it was wrong, but why did it feel so right?
I loved how well this book was done. It can be very tricky to tackle the subject matter but they did it with finesse. Loved how patient Ansel was and how Collins made sure everything was right for her. The flow was perfect and the emotions, gah!!!! They made such the sweetest couple. Can’t wait to see them pop up in the next books!!
