Play Me
By Kristin Mayer and Kelly Elliot
OMG!! The humor! The way these two got under each other’s skin! My favorite had to be when she let the air out of his tires or the Mike N Ike’s!!
This book is co-written by Kristin Mayer and Kelly Elliot. I wanted to read it because I am a big fan of Kristin Mayer’s Exposed Hearts Series. These girls did not disappoint! Sometimes when you have two writers things can get choppy but this book flowed so well. I did a little research when I finished and found that both sets of parents have their own books!! Kelly Elliot wrote The Playbook which features Hunter’s parents, Brett and Aubrey. Kristin Mayer wrote The Trust Series (3 books) which features Kendall’s parents, Damien and Allison. I need to read those!!
Again kudos to these girls who flawlessly told the story of Kendall and Hunter! I had put off reading this book because the blurb about it didn’t really suck me in but don’t let that fool you! It is an amazing journey to watch them fall in love. Kendall is trying to prove she can manage a sports team without her Dad’s help. Hunter used to coach but a horrible accident had him walking away. In hopes of saving the team Kendall sets out to get Hunters help. He isn’t too keen on stepping back into a coaching position but he is drawn to her, just as much as she is drawn to him. The antics between the two just adds such a great quality.
I really enjoyed how loyal Hunter is to Josh, one of his players. Hunter knew something was going on and took the time to find out – Josh’s story broke my heart. Through the heartache everyone is able to see what path they want to take to reach what they want in life. It was a real treat to see such an in depth epilogue!
